  • ABOUT  ME

I am a singer, composer, guitarrist and percussionist, active in bands such as Bitoi, Fauna and Duppy Tales, among others.
Currently based in Malmö, Sweden.

Born January 16th 1997 in Trollhättan, Sweden, my relationship to music and language is characterized by the in-betweenness that comes from being Swedish-born to Syriac parents with origins in Syria.

My voice is thus both worded but wordless, as a way of letting the music be carried by lingual influences from Arabic, Swedish, English, the meaningless syllables of jazz scat singing or phonetically transcribed bird calls, as in the band Bitoi.

By mixing traditional elements with innovative ideas, I create a musical experience that is both foreign and deeply familiar. An immersive live experience shaped by presence, risk-taking and audience interaction.

Through my solo project I explore the voice as a complete and autonomous instrument through live improvisation, looping, and electronic processing. Using only voice and real-time technology, I create fully live performances with no pre-recorded material, where composition and arrangement emerge in the moment. The project moves across genres, expanding the expressive possibilities of the human voice.

With a bachelor’s degree in Jazz from Malmö Academy of Music in Sweden, I utilizes improvisation and experimentation to morph influences from jazz, choir music, hip hop, rock, folk music and electronic sound worlds. The result is an innovative and adaptive sound space that feels both new and familiar, spatial and grounded, beat heavy and ambient.
